Hi guys, renovating my garage and preparing for a lift - electricians want to know where I want the 220 box/connection etc. I’ve looked at several videos and instruction manuals and haven’t seen a lot of detail. Do I want the box on the ceiling near the power unit post, on the wall next to it etc? Thanks! Planning on a Bendpak.

High on wall above post. Run conduit high and drop down to control box from box on wall. This way there are no cords to trip over or duck under.

Put mine in the ceiling with a 1/4 twist lock plug and socket

I just got done with mine. Put a junction box in the ceiling (normal outlet box), dropped a 10/3 SJOOW/SOOW cord to a 30amp disconnect (air conditioner style) mounted to the post opposite of the hydraulic unit. Then some liqui-tite over to the pump.

The 30A Disconnects are only like $13-$15, which is cheaper that buying a mating plug set for the 20A/30A 220V service.

You can see it on the left of the left column here:

I ran a pvc conduit, before my concrete floor was placed, that comes up along side the power post. I did the same with my compressed air feed. I have nothing coming down from the ceiling.
