4 post lift jacking options

I've been back and forth on the 2 vs.4 post lift. I'm kind of leaning toward the 4 post because of the extra storage on top. I can park my boat up there for the winter instead of doing the usual take the motor off and flip the boat over on the trailer every fall. The only dilemma I really have is the jacking options on the 4 poster. Do any of you guys have any jacking mods instead of buying the expensive sliding jack. Are there any other options for a sliding type jack that is a little more reasonably priced? I have a lowered car and have a few sets of tires that I like to change out every now and again.

Expensive, but IMO the bridge jack is indespensible.

BTW, what's the reason you can't store your boat and trailer on a two post?

You could use a sliding jack bridge (~$100), and some bottle jacks to cut the cost considerably..

I have one sliding jack and then I made a second jack plate that was a truck receiver that works great for using bottle jacks

I have the sliding BendPak jack and my only regret is that I did not get 2

i bite the bullet and just got 2 trolley jacks when i bought my lift, worth there weight in gold. Had to wait a month for the hydraulic pump to come in cause it was on back order and i spent that time using bottle jacks and floor jacks on the lift with the jack tray what a pain that was. the trolley jacks are worth every penny

Not sure where u guys are buying your lifts but the one I am getting includes rollers to move and a jack bridge.

Where are you getting the bridge jacks? I'm in Canada and the jacks cost close to or more than half the cost of the lift itself.

The bridge jack for the Bendpak is air-over-hydraulic, and quite expensive.
The bridge jack for the DirectLift is a manual hand pump, and more reasonable.

We are pretty limited here in Canada to the selection.

Pick up 4 scissor jacks that came with Crown Vics and Town Cars off of eBay. I use them with my cordless impact to lift all four wheels off the ground (or my 4-post) in about 2 minutes.
They were designed for a heavy car, so 4 of them are pretty solid and stable.
The big thing is that they have a hex head to spin them. Great for brake work too.

I admit that I haven't tried it, but one of the ideas I had was to get 2 manual bridge jacks and one air/hydraulic pump. Since the hydraulic lines wouldn't be under pressure when at rest, dry quick-disconnects might work.

As is my custom, it went crazy from there. If I do that, then why not use the quick-disconnects and pump on my floor jacks, bottle jacks, and other manual hydraulic tools. Then I could use the manual pump on an injector pop pressure test rig. In theory, of course.
