4-Post Lift recommendations

I'm shopping for a 4-post lift primarily for vehicle storage. I have a 2-post Rotary that I use regularly as a hobby lift. Looking at Rotary and Bendpak. Main features I want are drip pans and casters and removable ramps.
Rotary vendor is pushing the Revolution but says it is built offshore.
Any recommendations/preference or other manufacturers to consider?

Thanks for any feedback!

BendPak, Direct Lift or any other certified made in China lift will all meet the minimum requirements. If I were to do it again I'd get the size I needed with the certification and buy the lift which had those catagories filled at the best price. Also make sure it has the accessories you want (sliding/rolling jacks, drip trays, etc).

I just installed two of the Greg Smith Atlas 8000 pound lifts. Hard to beat for the price. Comes with drip trays, jack tray and caster kit.

Lifts are fine for hobby use, especially storage.
Instructions ****.
I was shorted on a few little hardware pieces. Fortunately, I have a nice nut bolt washer selection, otherwise it would have required trips to the hardware store.

I had to relocate four steel support poles to put the lifts where I wanted. Before installing those big headers, and relocating poles, the end of the garage had a 14 foot wide bay in the middle and two 8.5 foot bays on the sides. Now they are all three a little over 10 foot.

Recently bought a Challenger Q4P09X 9000 lb 4-poster - very happy with it.
Also got the Q4P09JT 4500 lb jacking tray
Along with QRJ04H - rolling jack - 4500 lb capacity
And some Q4P09PDT - plastic drip pans (set of 4)

Here's the lift empty:

And here it is with Chevy 1500 under and 2008 Vette on top:
lift_truck&vette.jpg

The lift has tons of overhead, almost 7 feet underneath when up all the way. The truck will fit in without mirrors folded in, but it is very tight, less than 1" on each side. I prefer it this way as I will use the mirror clearance to help guide me into center of ramps.

I have about 18' of ceiling clearance in the lift area............

Good luck in your selection and purchase!

That Challenger lift looks good. Is it bolted to the floor? How sturdy does it feel when a car is all the way up? What is the diameter of the cable? Why did you choose that lift over others? TIA

Yeah, lift is bolted. It wasn't at first, but that made me nervous. Very solid now that its bolted. But its made to be rolled around on casters. I bought this after discussion with other owners of same lift. Was gonna get BendPak, but apparently some issues with quality control nowadays, at least that's what I was hearing.

Cable diameter is 1/2"

It's nice to finally have a lift in my home garage. Very handy for repairs and storage. :D

What size and type vehicles are you planning on storing both under and above? I am in the process of looking for one too and I have seen the outside widths go from around 100-125 inches.. So if it is a smaller car I would prefer something that does not take up extra garage space.

I love this lift. I am tossed between the Challenger / Quality, Direct / Revolution rotary or Advantage lifts.

Where did you get yours? Cost?

It's the hood on my 1970 Olds 442 W-30 (clone). The lift has been great, use it almost everyday. I bought it at the 2014 Meacum Auction in Kissimmee, FL where I bought the W-30. With everything, including the air jack it was around $3k.

My only 'complaint' with the lift is the rolling jack. It works great, but the location of the hand-operated lever makes it somewhat difficult to pump up. At some point, I can see myself springing for the extra money to maybe buy powered cylinder, or perhaps re-configure the jacking arm so that it's easier to use.

Otherwise, this setup is fabulous.

Thank you for the information. I am waiting fort eh Challenger / Quality lift rep to call me back. The hand pumps look to be a pain but places Like Greg Smith have air conversions for them that are not to expensive. Enjoy

Thanks, I will check out Greg Smith...... I found my conversion kit for $269 - (Quality Lifts QRJ04-PK) seems like a no-brainer. Thanks again

That is exactly what I am buying. I need to know how wide the bundle is before I order so I know if it fits between the ramps on my trailer. Do you have any pic as delivered or care to take a guess at the width? Thanks!

I bought a HD7WBendpak from ASE Deals. It's a great product. I had one pin that wouldn't take grease, so BendPak quickly mailed me a new one. I added Caterpillar hyd. oil additive for cylinder stick/slip and I use the lift weekly with no issues. Best investment I've made for my garage...

I bought the BendPak HD-9 from wrencherswarehouse.com after shopping around. I spent a lot of time comparing lifts (size, shape, build) and honestly there's a lot out there! They were not the cheapest price but they have the best warranty, quality, service and support and that's what I really care about down the road because I'm gonna use this lift for a long time. More peace of mind for my buck. It's totally worth it.

Picked up my Direct Lift pro park 9 last weekend. Love it. Have had a few people over that have been around many different lifts in their profession and they all commented on how well it's built and how heavy duty the lift was. Installation was suprisingly simple. :D

LOL, is this a trick photo or something??? I see the "Invisible Glass" can and it looks 6 feet high. What gives?

Ha, I was at a carshow they were giving out two foot inflatable Invisible Glass cans. I did not get one so I wrote them for an inflatable glass can and about two weeks I get a five foot one in the mail, no charge. Awesome! My grandkids will not leave it alone thinking its a punching bag.

Silverplate,

Love your Avanti.
My Dad was a Studebaker fan, he had a '48, '53 and a '62 Lark. My brothers and I tried to get him to buy an Avanti in '62. No way, plain jane conservative cars only. A neighbor bought an Avanti (R1, auto) when they came out. I got to drive it in the late 1960's and he died shortly thereafter. His widow kept it all these years and finally sold it just a couple of years ago. It was unique with a convertible style zip out rear window.

I've been wanting a lift for a good while and have finally decided to go with the BendPak HD9. However, I'm having a tough time getting any salesmen to return my call after calling a couple of the vendors that often get recommended here. Business must be booming, I reckon...
