Looking to pickup a used lift, most likely an older Rotary 12K 4 post model.

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=433943

I am no lift expert but I know my way around a garage/vehicles. The lift is 2.5hrs away and currently together and fully functional. If everything checks out, what is the best way to tear these down for transport? The owner has a forklift and will assist in loading.

I would like to minimize hydraulic fluid leaking all over the floor/my trailer and minimize the chance of killing myself :D

Appreciate any insight you guys can give. Thanks

if it were me...rent a U haul utility trailer with medium height sides , drive under lift, lower lift, jack legs up block legs up, strap down, drive away.

Take a look at youtube for some video's/inspiration.

Get the installation manual from Rotary and follow the procedures in reverse. You may be able to find the manual on Rotary`s web site. If not Google rotary and give them a call. They most likely can email you an install manual.
