Looking to pickup a used lift, most likely an older Rotary 12K 4 post model.

I am no lift expert but I know my way around a garage/vehicles. The lift is 2.5hrs away and currently together and fully functional. If everything checks out, what is the best way to tear these down for transport? The owner has a forklift and will assist in loading.
I would like to minimize hydraulic fluid leaking all over the floor/my trailer and minimize the chance of killing myself
Appreciate any insight you guys can give. Thanks
