4 post lift

Hi, I am in the process of choosing a 4 post lift. The one I had in mind is a bendpak hd-9st. I would be parking a 67 Camaro on top and a 2017 Jetta below. Would this be a comfortable decision and does anyone have the same situation? The hd9 would eat up more of my valuable space. I was also considering a pro park 8 but like the bendpak pulley in cross beam design better.
Thanks Steve

I recently purchased an Advantage 9000 lb. XLT. I purchased the add on air jack. I knew I wanted to put my Jeep Grand Cherokee up in the air and maybe a pick up in the future. The lift is rock solid with the GC up in the air and the lift not bolted down. The extra tall lets me put my wrangler up all the way and walk underneath without bumping my head. Every application is different but the folks at Advantage were great and helped me work through a problem with a defective relief valve. Support is important. Bob

Here is a shot with the MGB sitting 6' from the bottom of the ramp to the floor. I have about another foot to go so I have plenty of room to work underneath or move motorcycles around.

Looks nice but really interested in the hd-9st owners due to its smaller width. The advantage lift is still wider then the bendpak.
Thanks

I have the HD9-XL and it works great for lifting my Mustangs and the wife's Tiguan. I've put my 1 Ton Dodge on it, and it gets it in the air, but I can tell it is straining a bit. I went with the 110V motor and perhaps the 220V would do better with the pickup. Consider getting the RJ-45 jack if you intend to do any work on your vehicles. It's an awesome add-on.

I am not sure where you are located but if there is a Mecum in the area I know they set up some lifts. Even if your not at the show call and ask for the show discount when there is a show going on. Makes a difference. Good luck.

What are you concerned about? I have an HD-9 and an HD-7 and am very happy with both. As long as the distance between the posts is enough for the cars you'll put there I think you'll be fine.

Mecum doesn't have Bendpak at the auctions. They're partnered with another brand.

It is a 67 camaro on top and a 2017 jetta below, concern is the wife needs to back in and wondering if it might be a tight fit for her. I think I will mock up something in the garage this weekend to see if she is comfortable with it. Just curious, what cars have been parked under the stx and hd-7? Oh, sorry I do realize I am asking both previous posters.
Thanks

Measurements won't lie and will tell you if it will fit. But, with my wider HD9-XL, I can tell you my wife did not at all like pulling her Tiguan in to park under it. It fit fine, but she was very worried that she wouldn't get it centered right and would hit a post. With the narrower HD9-ST, that problem might be bigger. Maybe build something out of lumber to simulate the width of the posts and have her try it out before you invest in the lift.

As a a side bar I move my 4 post today and when I put the MGB back on the lift and raised it up I decided to leave it at the 6' mark so I could do some cleaning on the underside. I decided to sweep the floor before I started and managed to bang my head 3 times. I am 6'2" so that may not be a problem for everyone but if you are going to walk under a stored vehicle the extra height is really nice if you have the headroom up above. I also like the wider lift and use the space between the ramp and the post for other storage. It all works out.

That is why I bought the tall version — nearly 7 feet under it. HD-9XW. I bought the wide version since I want more under car access when working on cars. The shorter HD-7W tempted me but with 2 bridge jacks, capacity is reduced and there is less space open underneath.

I park under my 4-post lift frequently. Much easier to drive in a back-out versus the opposite.
