I've been told that the Revolution lifts are made overseas by a Rotary rep. He said you can bet that any lift which uses metric hadware is made overseas.

I disagree about the shims under the post, Nepa Z's reply is more accurate.

I used to believe the same about Rotary's Revolution (due to the metric hardware)...but I've seen them made in the factory...all made in the USA.

Nepa Z asked how you level a lift that does not have an adjustable lock ladder. An example is a Pro Park 7. It has stationary blocks welded to the posts. The only way to level it is with shims. You "balance" the lift with the lifting cables so all latches engage at the same time.

Hello Garage Journal members. I just read all these posts today, and it's unfortunately that I'm now just reading them because I could have helped with a lot of the questions being asked as well as provide some truth to those who have made comments about some brand lifts are not correct.

First of all, over 95% of the lifts being sold today in the U.S. are not American made. The Bendpaks as well as the Revolution by Rotary are all made in China. At one time, both companies did manufacture here in the U.S.

Mohawk, American Custom Lifts and Gemini still provide all American made lifts using American steel. American Custom Lifts also provides imported lifts both four post and two posts design, but they're American designs and more importantly, they're ALI and ETL certified.

If you're looking at saving money, then look at the imported lifts. But be sure that they are ALI certified. If you search YouTube, you'll find some horror videos of imported lifts that were not certified. I also recommend that all of you check out the BBB before purchasing any lifts. Make sure the company is in good standards and offer references and testimonials. Also, ALWAYS pay with a credit card and not a check... just in case you have any problems with your purchase. Also visit ripoffreport.com.

American Custom Lifts is the leader in residential applications providing the widest range of parking lifts. American Custom Lifts also can build custom design lifts to meet any application.

I hope this information is helpful. You can find additional information on lifts from Mohawk at http://www.mohawklifts.com/wp/consumer/ and American Custom Lifts at www.aclifts.com.

Best regards,

PhantomPark

I have a Backyard Buddy and could not be more pleased. I moved it on a rollback once and am ready to move it again. The rollback only has to remove the side rail because of the width.

Ever consider the Bend Pak HD 9XW with free shipping? Got ours from WWW.asedeals.com, Bend Pak customer service is second to none.Extra long, extra tall, extra long. You can see by the photos there is plenty more height to go...and the ramps will adjust to about another 6" wider.
