4 Wire Pneumatic Solenoid?

I ordered a few Numatics solenoids and would like to double check wiring before I fry something.

They are 4/2 solenoids, single coil. There are two orange wires and two brown wires. One of each is marked "+"

Thoughts?

dual voltage? pictures? what are they for?

Could be for dual switching. We use to use air/elect solenoids on tank trailers, turn on in cab, turn off at back of trailer or visa versa. Don't remember how they wired but the did have 4 wires.

Entirely possible they are 24vdc. The direct-acting/non-piloted spools are prone to sticking because the solenoid isn't super strong. Their air-pilot ISO valves are top notch though, imo.

I believe the manifold if wired for a single or double acting valve, so single or double coil, the + is for the 24 VDC circuit, there is an LED that indicates if power is on to the coil so the power must be supplied to the + , the other wire of the same color goes the the 0 V side of the power supply.

Going into the way back machine, I retired from this years ago, the base on that will accept both single and dual solenoid valves. Check the continuity of the orange pair and the brown pair. You will probably find one pair has continuity and one is open. If the valve has a voltage spec then that is what it is.

The markers on the wires have been added by a previous user, assuming that this is a used valve. Those valves require a very clean air supply as they have a lapped spool that requires no seals. Any contaminates or dried oil will gum them up.

Yep! Thanks guys. These are actually new solenoids, they must have added the markers from the factory. They are being used to control a knife gate valve for those of you that are curious.
