what do you suggest? amazon has tekton, wilmar, greatneck, abn, and grip models to choose from. most look very similar and real close price wise. im leaning towards the tekton based on the great warranty policy ive read about on here and the quality of the 4 sets of deep impact sockets and extensions I recently purchased. opinions?

I bought the Tekton last fall. I haven't worked too hard yet, but I am way happier with the minimal flex compared to the HF 1/2" bar.

I was going to buy the Tekton because of their customer service and price, and actually ordered one until it was lost in transit and I got a refund.

I decided to go another route and I got a 20" Proto for the same price or cheaper. I believe it will be a stronger tool, even when used with a cheater pipe. It will also fit in my toolbox, which is nice.

I have 3 oversized breaker bars , all from Titan tools ( 1/2 drive x 30 inch , 3/4 inch drive x 40 inch and 1 inch drive x 40 inch ) have use both the 3/4 and inch drive bars on some seriously stuck nuts ( dodge axle nut - 1 and 11/16 socket - just laughed at my impact ) I am 6'4 and 280 - put my full force on these bars- nuts never stood a chance. no bending issues. recommend these breaker bars. bought them from amazon.

I have the Titan, got it cheap on ebay brand new. I don't really need it, but I like to see the little thing telling me it's rated for 1,000 ft-lbs on the head. That's about 150 lbs more hanging off the end of it than I have to offer.

I kind of want a 1" bar to go with my ratchet. Was thinking about this style, from Neiko:

Handle looks thicker than on the Titan, Tekton, etc. But with that sort of thing you never know if it will match the photos.

One of our guys has the Titan 1" breaker bar. It is beefy.

I have a 42" EZ Red extendable bar which is pretty sweet for $90. I basically only use it to turn semi engines over during a rebuild, any thing else the impact will do or a torch has to come out anyway.

Doesn't wright have a 42" one? Sure it ain't cheap

Edit. Looks like it's a ratchet http://store.harryepstein.com/cp/Ratchets/6425.html

..and every click of the ratchet mechanism sounds like handgun slide slapping home. i'm not sure its possible to break it with nuclear weapons. its expensive compared to the offshore breaker bars, but i'll bet stronger (and i'm no USA COO zealot). how does $180 compare to the truck brand breaker (or comparable ratchets) $-wise? i've had all my 220lb jumping on the end of that 42" bar and it barely flexes. i expect i'll use it 1-2x a year, but given the forces likely to be involved, i thought the wright was worth the $.

only downside IMO is it isn't chromed. once every few months i wipe it down with some oil to keep the tin worm away just as a precaution.
