Its ok I missed on my conduit too. Had to cut it off to allow the base rail to land in the correct spot. Will just have to massage the hole and open it up a bit to slide a new piece in.

Its been a few weeks since I've had a chance for any updates. I passed the electric rough-in yesterday after making a few changes for the inspector so I can now ditch the extension cords from the garage which is big. The osb is temporary to get past inspections then I'll figure out what I want to do with the interior. Now that I have that out of the way I can schedule framing rough-in. Still waiting on my garage doors and openers to come in. Hopefully, I'll get the call soon on those. Anyway glad to get the blue sticker.

Looks good and congrats in getring past the rough electrical.

Question for you: Are those all the circuits your putting in the panel in the picture?
I ask because I noticed you put the OSB, around the panel already.

Thanks Chris. No I'm only doing the minimum to get past final inspection and then I'll pull the scrape osb and finish pulling the rest of my circuits. Everything inspected must be tamper proof and backed by gfci.

Any wire under 8' must be protected.

I understand, I did the same with mine.

Well it’s been a minute since my last update but finally had time to work on the doors. Not a lot of fun doing it by myself but we find a way…. Looks like I’m going to paint them as they don’t have the contrast I was looking for. Can’t tell in the picture but they are off.

Awesome setup. I like the overhang. I wish I would have done similar but I ran out of room from the back property line. Would be awesome for a outside covered patio and man kitchen.

Thanks. That started out as a lean-to and then I decided to just continue the roof line. Really didn't add a lot more to the cost.

No we went with basic white insulated doors. I had issues with getting my top rails squared up to door and actually had the top panel walk itself out once which scared the **** out of me. I have seen doors painted with good results, but I wouldnt want to do it unless I used and automotive paint. Dont want to have to scrape latex paint off to redo it in 3 or 4 years.

Yes. seems like it took me a lot longer to get the doors squared. They aren't perfect but I think they'll be ok. Getting that glass panel up the latter was pretty sketchy and then hoping the wind didn't blow before I could get the temp screw in.

If I'm to believe the youtube's I've seen shouldn't be too bad to paint. I have an airless sprayer that should make quick work of it once everything is prepped.

Once the doors are done I need to get a sealant on the garage floors to give them a fighting chance.

Well it seems like forever but I've been using the space more than working on it but I finally had the time and budget to work on insulation. A lot of ladder work for one person but over the new year break I got all the walls done except for one 13" x 23" section. At least I don't have a bunch of left overs to deal with. At the end of the day r19 fiberglass was the best bang for my $. I also hit all of the corners and penetrations with foam insulation including the bottom where the metal hits the wood. My air stapler came in really handy. Next I have to figure out what kind of ceiling I want to put in so I can blow insulation and get this air tight or at least as close as I can.tempImagesDWJrq.jpg

Congrats on getting it finished (ish haha) Nice rack setup also!
Probably will never be done but at least I can work on my own time. Thanks I’m still putting the gym together but I really like REP. Some new some market place. It’s going to get some dust for awhile I have to have rotator cuff surgery in a couple weeks.

Oh how time ticks by... This project has been a labor of love for sure. Not that I'm comparing it to the Sistine Chapel but I have more appreciation for Michelangelo after finishing this one. It took many months but I really like the way it turned out. My requirements were be unique, something I could do without help, and fairly inexpensive. I found a supplier that had b/c grade rough cut red cedar that was inexpensive to purchase but the labor side was high. I had to sort to the half inch for the widths and joint one side then rip to the widths. Next up is to foam around all the boxes and blow some insulation in. I want to get this climate controlled soon.

not the most photogenic work but extremely glad to be done with it. I blew in insulation and closed up the ceiling. without any heating its already make a major difference. when its cold I had about a 20 degree difference. The lights and my stereo create a little heat but not much. When they installed the roof I had them install the bubble insulation to keep the condensation down in the summer but when I went to cut the ridge it looks like the cap doesn't have anything in it for rain. Not sure if that's normal but plan on getting some breathable ridge foam just in case. Not looking forward to getting on the roof but would rather not have wet insulation. I'm sure it would only be a problem with wind driven rain. While I had the machine I went ahead and bought insulation to top up the house attic which made a major difference. Once my building budget is in a better place I'll add a couple 24K splits and a 100" fan in the middle of the shop.tempImageEIbyfl.jpgtempImagetNi4Hb.jpg
