Thanks very much may have gone a little overboard but I'm working in it full time now got tired of working 18 hour days doing side work. I built the shop 6 years ago at 26 years old
And am finally doing what I built it for. I wish I would have seen this site then and would have had a lot more ideas but I'm looking to add on work is booming.

Let me know if I can help U with any questions on that booth u want to build or cheap good dryers/ filters I had a booth made of pvc pipe and plastic I worked out of for 2 years doing side work the most important part of a nice paint job is compressed air quality, fish eyes are the worst . . I was doing good in that plastic booth, laying it down but hard to see on an all over. Had 6 box fans under one door boxed in with 2x4's and gaps filled with some great stuff. Had to start somewhere

Hi Mike
Congrats on having a nice garage to work in. I assume that you are doing collision work and not hot rod building.
18 hr days is where I started too, In my house garage painting in early A.M. to take advantage of no breeze and I stuck a box fan under the door too
I was 29 when I opened my first bodyshop and was a 1 man show.
Do you have any employees yet?

Looking forward to seeing your work

Don

Sweet shop, Mike! Exactly the size I'm looking to build. Mind if I ask where you got the steel? Did you weld it together, or was it a bolt together kit? Thanks!

I bought the bolt together kit from CEDA metal buildings about 8 years ago he actually went out of business right after I got it . Didn't know it at the time but I think he was slowly going under that's why I got it so cheap the same steel truss buildings were going for $16,000 to $18,000 at the time.

Thanks Don it's nice to feel apart of a group with people that have a lot of the same Things that they love and see all the awesome stuff there doing and excited about. I have one employee that's been with me for 5 months, a 24 year old that I'm training. I really enjoy teaching people how to do body and paint and have had no luck yet with older experienced people, sloppy work or want 2500 a week and don't care about quality. I want to train this guy to run the shop and hire a few more top students from vo tech schools around the area . I recently quit my full time job as a structural master technician for Hendrick. I was making good money but not happy always wanted my own shop since 20 years old. Pretty much doing anything that pays. I like doing Restorations but they just don't pay like insurance work for me. Here's a few of many pics of the stuff we have done out of that shop.

Awesome build. You did it entirely yourself from the concrete up? Was looking at building a 30x40 wood built (either pole or stick built) but if a steel building like this is cost effective I'd rather go that route for cost & size. Also, where did you find a 40x50x14 steel building for 11,500?!

Thanks!

Didn't do the concrete or the electric on booth , doesn't come with any conduit at all
And was too busy doing what I'm good and fast at

Got it at CEDA buildings which is out of business now
I got a deal when I was looking all I could find them for was 16k to 18k. And then came across this company right before it shut down, but didn't know it was headed that direction
One way to get one that cheap now is a carport style frame building not a truss with concrete included
