I just bought one of these for above my door, outside.

I then found 23 more of these for $50 a piece. Any ideas how I can use these for my indoor lighting?

Is there a good LED light I can put in these? How do I design lighting with something like this. I've been looking at all kinds of LEDs, but finding these like I did is such an opportunity I'd hate to pass it up.

any ideas?

Just get the LED replacement bulb for them and call that part a day.

For the stem, if you are hanging them I would just replace that 90 with a straight piece of conduit, being Crouse it should just be 1/2" rigid pipe.
They make a box for hanging a light with the conduit, I just can't recall what it's called right now.

A 100w equivalent LED bulb will be around 20w and should cost you around $20 each. Look for the word "omni-directional" on the box. This means that the bulb puts out light in every direction which will allow some of the light to take advantage of the reflector.
Another option is to use a PAR38 LED lamp of about 16-19 watts, with a wide beam, about 25-35 degrees. This lamp will shine all of the light downward, without using the reflector.
Good luck

Explosion proof meaning it's a sealed unit - led is OK but the heat they give off with no external heat sink or ventilation can cause premature failure to the drivers electronics.

Unless these are just similar to yours.

The fixture in the eBay auction is selling for $381.50, but you bought 23 of them for $50/each? Are they in fact the same Crouse-Hinds fixture, with the glass globes?

If so, I agree you need to look into whether heat will be an issue for the LED lamps.

Yep, it's the same light, with a straight hanger, rather than the wall hanger. I'm thinking about just giving in to the idea and going with t8.
