Hey guys been a while but finally got going

I was originally planning on a 40x60 w lean-tos on each end. I ended up going w a fully enclosed building for not a lot more.

I had to design the building on a 55° angle for it to fit within the approved building envelope

Footers got poured 2 weeks ago. Stem walls got poured last Tuesday and backfilled Thursday. This week they started The walls. Trusses are going up today

Trusses came on Thursday and they got those and some of the roof tin on. They battled the rain on Friday and got some more tin on. I stained the entry door I go to match the garage doors

Because I couldn't afford bigger and I ran out of building room

Yup...that is the standard GJ response. I'm sure every member here would rather have a garage/shop 20x the size of their home.

Place looks great so far. I actually like the angled design. Congratulations.

GJ?

The town was curious as to why I needed such a big building. I laughed and said that's all I could afford or I would put up a 100x200

I restore trucks as a hobby. My current 25x52 I have severely out grown

The far left bay will be a spray booth/wash bay with a studded out partitioned wall.
The next bay will have a lift
The next bay will be a drive in bay.
The angled area will be for tool boxes, work bench, bolt bins, drill press, etc(above it will be a mezzanine for small part storage)
The far two right bays will be to park trucks and large part storage

Semi trucks or pickups? Ive also outgrown my garage and have been looking into something bigger. 50x80 with a lean to down the whole side and front is what i had in mind.

Still great.

Man that 4-6 weeks for a floor is going to be a painful wait !

Not really. I have been working 70-85 hours a week so I would have no time to do any work in there anyway.
Besides it still needs, inside partition walls, electric, air lines run, spray foam, inside tin, mezzanine, etc, etc, etc.

And it is going to be my wedding venue next fall so I am going to try and do nothing project wise in the building till after that.

Mostly pickups but I picked up a semi 2 years ago to restore so I can haul multiple pickups to shows

Glue on?!?!? No, They uses screws that go into the perlins

why would you want so many extra holes in your roof?

I’ll be picking up the ones that you can basically glue on to avoid any damage to the tin.

It looks good none the less.

There is A LOT of weight with the snow. The gasket on the bottom of the snow guards and the gasket on the screws seal just fine

There is also a lot of movement in tin and the fasteners with hot and cold temperatures.

I would be keeping and eye on them for sure.

Maybe I should of glued the roofing down

Lol guess you should tell all the people installing hidden fastener systems that there is no reason for it and the inflated costs associated.

I’d lay money on it I could rip out a screwed down ice rake before I could pull off a properly adhered one.

I personally wouldn’t have filled the end of my roof, where water could build up if snow turns to ice and then melts slow, with a bunch of screw holes and was just suggesting to keep an eye on them. Obviously that bothered you.

Brad, long time no see! That's a beautiful new shop you're building, one hell of an upgrade from your current shop!

Good luck with it.

Any news? Seems we might have gutters and doors by now based on your original guess.

yes, gutters are doors are on.

2" XPS foam board on floor along with 3/4" PEX tubing

Floor got poured 2 weeks ago, it is smooth as glass except for the wash bay which has a slight texture

Have to wait the 28 days to put densifier down then another 7 to put down the sealer.

I need to financially recoup to put electric, air lines, partition walls, mezzanine, insulation and the interior walls/ceiling

and it is only 40' deep. I physically could not make it any deeper with the power lines, properly lines and my current garage locations
