Hey guys I’d love some input on placement of my hoist. I have 2 columns to support the ceiling/living quarters above to deal with. As well, a ~14x12 mezzanine will be at the very back on the right side. Left side will be a small wash bay/detailing area.
Now, I can move the posts apart to fit the hoist between them and utilize that space for the columns and the hoist, as well as move them front the back. I thought I wanted the hoist at the entrance but now I see the columns would kind of in the way.
My next plan was to move the columns toward the back 18’ from the wall and 22’ from the entrance and out the hoist in between. This would beat having 4 vertical posts in the way. Doing this would allow 3 cars to park in the centre bay with one on the hoist as I will be buying an extra tall lift (Bendpak 181” iirc). Is this a sound idea? Or should I just have the hoist smack dab in the middle and have 20’ bays front and back allowing doors to fully be opened?
List of cars to hoist and park include:
F350 (need cab removal possible as it’s inevitable)
Porsche Macan
Lexus GX470
Mercedes E class sedan
