Hi,

First off love this website. My wife and I recently built new house. I did the house so she had her dream kitchen, master bedroom, and all that other stuff guys don't really care about. But now I get to do my garage. I am looking at 40 x 40 with 16' sidewalls. With a loft on the 16' of it. This would be attached. It will have floor heat, lift, floor drain, etc. Going to pimp this thing out. Going to start in the spring. But I want your ideas for making it awesome I guess.

I have a pole barn that is not insulated just stores camper, boat, and that ****. So this i more man cave, work on my cars and toys, maybe make some deer sausage or whatnot kind of shop/garage.

I anxiously await your suggestions on making it awesome.

Holy smokes man, that is a great space, but just spend some time in Garage Builds section and see what others are doing. Tons of good ideas there.

Awesome is what you make of it!

Add a lift and position your doors to make things easily accessable. If you can swing it, put a bathroom in. You will like it as well as your wife will appreciate you not tracking grease in with dirty hands. Do the small stuff. Plumb airlines with convienent locations. Place compressor somewhere it will be quite. Wire plenty of lighting/ electrical outlets both 110 and 220. Add phone/ internet and tv hook ups. Insulate the building. maybe some windows for natural light. Seal or epoxy the floor for easy cleanup of oils, etc. Consider an interior liner if you pla to weld/cut to protect insulation from sparks. Radiant floor heat would be awesome. If you do anyoverhead lifting consider jib or bridge cranes and simple beam and trolley with a chain/electric hoist. Most importantly a BEER FRIDGE!
