So this project started almost a year ago (April 2012) and has slowly come along as I have had time.

It's a 40'x50'x12' pole barn supplied by National Barn Co. I have seen a few more of their barns on this website over the last year and I have to say I have been very impressed with the quality of it.

Area of excavation at start of the project:

Barn construction complete - ran electrical and water:

Got all of the T8 light fixtures and electrical outlets installed:

Debated on floor coverings and finally decided on using porcelain tile. It's not a decision I regret but it has been a very long process and that still isn't completed... I hope to start grouting next week:

Installed the air lines, filtration system and air reels. Decided on 3/4" I.D. maxline tubing. It's a quality product and seals very well... just a bit hard to straighten out in cold temps :eyecrazy:

Just completed the framing and insulation of a 10'x20' partition for a brewery room inside, however I haven't taken any pictures of it yet. I'll try to get to it this week.

Wow! Looks great. That's quite the tile project. Any plans for the walls or ceiling? What are you going to be working on in there?

I plan on foam board and OSB for the walls and corrugated steel for the ceiling. That's someday when I finally get this damn flooring done

I have a '69 Nova and '71 Camaro to tinker with in there.

Great choice in cars. Any pics of either of them?

I tiled the entire first floor in my house, I can't imagine doing a garage that size!!!

What made you decide to go with porcelain for the floors?

I had used it before in a 2 car garage and really like how robust and maintenance free it is. It's a lot of work initially but well worth the investment in the long run.

I got the tile from a salvage yard for $0.68/sq. ft

Nice shop and property! Looks like it goes downhill from the house, is drainage going to be a problem?

You are correct about the slope. Its hard to see but I have a channel drain that spans the length of the barn in the front concrete apron. I also have the gutters and a French drain system piped underground to the rear. So far in a year I have had zero issues with drainage

Looks real nice, love the effect the tile has given to the building. You say it is 40x50, is the gable end (door side) 50' or 40'? I am considering same size building. Thanks.
