I've read a ton of posts on here and garnered a lot of information, which is understandably sometimes conflicting as there is often more than one solution to a problem.
I have a 40x60 steel shop, 16ft walls, spray foam insulated. When I was building it, I made what I now believe to be the mistake of doing unit heaters instead of radiant. We are in Alaska, so we use heat with some frequency.... every now and then, if you will.
We also own a dog kennel. Our first attempt to remedy our heat problem was at the advice of someone at a local HVAC place that didn't work at all. We did ducting that is 10 inches with 12 sources and one 700cfm fan. You can probably guess how well that worked out.
We just moved one of the unit heaters, as you will see in the picture, it was between the door and the first wall, so it was useless. Now we have more than enough heat on the mezzanine level - where the offices are - but it gets super hot and stays super cold downstairs.
I'm wondering if there is any sort of ducting solution here. I'd rather not do a fan as being able to use filter boxes on the air would be ideal. I already have some pretty expensive filter boxes and I'd like to use them to filter out some of the dog dust, etc.
I'm only showing the second floor as the first floor is pretty much wide open.
Conveniently, I happen to have a genie lift I'm storing for someone here and if there's a solution I could do while it's here, that'd be great. I appreciate any help you can offer!
