Hi folks, looking for suggestions on lighting my 40x60 shop. 13.5 ft walls with white metal covering 12.5. The ceiling is also white metal. The floor is regular concrete finish. Shop is being used for truck and tractor restoration. The bottom floor is also clear span with pallet racks along one long wall.

There is a lot of free lighting software out there for you to download.

Here's a list!

I use to link visual software (with is down the page) but it looks like they changed to pay for software, I did not look at any of the their software!

Good software will include room wall and ceiling finishes so keep that in mind as you scope some of this software.

Most all software from the major lighting manufactures include the various types of lighting figures both standard and new like LED.

Since the nature of your structure is for general construction or shop you need at least provide 10 foot candles.
Most good lighting software will tally this up for you as you go through light selection. OSHA 1926.56

T8's were the best compromise for me $$ wise.
My shop is 40x50x12.5 and white steel inside also.
Make your shop nice and bright, and you will love working in there.
I put in 3 solid rows end to end, each row individually switched, and for the row closest to the man doors, it is 3 way switched.
