Thought I would share a few pics of my new building. It is 40x60x16 pole barn will have a 16x14 door and a 10x12 door. Planning an office in one corner and a 12x40 storage loft. Will have waste oil heat and wood stove for supplemental. I am all the work myself so its a slow go. Working on wall framing now.

Very cool! Where in Oregon? I'm in Medford. Planning on building an 80x60 in the near future.

Looks great! I'm just a bit west of you! I'm curious if you purchase this as a kit locally? I'm gearing up to get a shop / garage going this spring but I'm limited on my site due to rocks / ledge to about 36'x48'.

Interesting that you set the rafters before the wall girts, but I see why you did so. Any issues with that method?

Also your grade board is on the outside of the poles, did you move the wall girts out 1.5"? Or you gonna add more wood. Hard to tell from the pics

Not OP, but I went with Central OR Pole Bldg; pretty sure they're still out there and kicking. I would suggest them to somebody looking - their prices were pretty much on-par with most others that I spoke with, and I'm super happy their end product. The only down side is they took way longer to get started than I expected. Once started however, they banged out my fairly large barn in maybe 3 weeks. Impressive to see how fast they moved.

Yes I bought the package from Pole Building Supply in Redmond, OR. U can imagine you could have rock issues in Tumalo.

That is the common way to do it in my area. I built 1 bay at a time trusses and purlins on the ground then used an I beam spreader and lifted the whole thing with a telehandler sliding up the posts. Then I only have to put purlins up for every other bay in the air. I helped with another building where we lifted the sections with boat winches on top of each post (the telehandler is much better). The first shop I built we flew the individual trusses in with a front end loader and jib then built out the purlins. Yes I hung the girts out 1.5 inches and will run blocking up each post.

Looks like the trusses are double, what was the reason behind that?

That is typical in Oregon at least truss on each side of the post except gable ends are single. Our standard post spacing is 12 foot, I have noticed other areas use closer spacing and set trusses on "top band". Seems like you would use a lot more lumber but could probably get away with less substantial posts. mine are 6x8 in the ground 54".
