Applying for permit today.

40x60x16 Pole barn construction

2 - 14x14 roll ups on southern gable end
2 - 36" doors, one on SW long wall, one on NE gable end
8 - windows, 4 centered every 12' on W long wall, 4 centered on E long wall, NE "bay" no window

18" overhang w/ soffit
wainscot
insulation

BTW...Welcome to GJ. And just to warn you, when you come on here with a title about building a huge garage or Pole building, you had better believe that pics are demanded. We do really like pics!!! :lol:

I may just even be jealous as I would imagine a few others will be too as far as the size. :sad:

Yes, pictures are a necessity. Also, 2012 LML, I take it you're a Duramax fan?

I have an 08 LMM myself :) Great trucks.

Anyway, back to the garage!!

I'm pricing steel buildings right now but I'd like to build another garage ( but bigger) to match the house...Is a wooden building going to come in cheaper...? There is an identical 1,000 sq ft shop compared ( next ) to the house,...I'd like to build an identical one at 1,200 sq ft near it but "matching"...Anyone think that would less expensive...?

As soon as something starts to happen I will get pics up. Just 4 stakes in the ground now.

I wrestled with size for a good bit, but in the end I feel this was the right size.

I was a Powerstorke guy for years, sprinkle in some Cummins, but it's all Dmax since '07.

Awesome build! I am planning for a 40x60x16, but I'm going with a steel building, it will give me 20ft at the peak. I plan on having a loft area. I'm in Florida also

Any reason why you went with wood? The steel building I was quoted was around 18k for the material

Overall the pricing, and look I wanted I was able to get from the GC I chose.

If I did it again, I would not change much.

140 mph rated (which is what it has to be in my area).

What was the price difference between wood frame and metal for your building? I'm looking to build a 40x60x16, but haven't decided which way to go. I think I'd prefer metal, but if pole barn frame is quite a bit cheaper I'd sure consider it.

I do not recall, location will play a huge role in pricing.

What I paid for my setup complete is almost twice what someone in PA would have paid.
