Started in a different thread but it was listed with a poll so it never got the traction I wanted. Also just got photobucket set up so I will slowly get everyone updated.

I see lots of builds on here and thought maybe I'd share mine. It's gonna be slow going because I am doing it all myself but hope to have sheet metal on by the end of June.

Its gonna be 40X64X14. 4 ply laminated columns 8' O.C. and 4/12 common trusses 4' O.C.

Going with Charcoal wainscoting, trim, and roof with ash grey siding.

8-2'X4' Windows, 1-36" entry door and 3-12X12 roll up doors on the front eave of the building.

So far the excavation is done, holes drilled, and concrete poured in the holes.

Roof metal all done. This is where I am at now. Just started trimming out the gables and eaves and getting ready to order siding metal. How have you guys framed your window rough openings? I have 8 windows going in

So question for you guys. Using overhead door trim for my garage doors. I framed up 18" dutch corners as well. The trim is the kind with the J built right into piece that wraps the garage door opening. What is the best way to do my corners? Did a few test cuts, can't find a technique that suits me at all. Help appreciated.

I think you'll find that the intersections of the trims is probably the most challenging aspects of building a pole barn, I know I have. I've only done square corners on mine.

Nice building, I assume by the perlins that your roll up doors are on the eave edge? (you mentioned gable end for doors)

Nice set up, plan a very similar build here someday.

Where you building this at?

I did miter cuts on the unique trim with the J built in.

For the windows a picture would be better but here goes... I ran vertical 2X6's from the lower girth board to the upper girth board spaced apart the rough opening width(these should come into the shed the same depth as your poles). Then boxed it in with a top and bottom 2x6. Once I had the window box I added 2x4's flush with the girth boards for the trim/nail flange.

Good looking structure, but that truss lifting apparatus is terrifying.

lol tried and tested method. Its a utility crossarm ratchet strapped to the boom. We used the same method to lift 600lb transformers at times, so I knew it would be fine for the 210lb trusses

This is what I had in mind. I better get to it, I have 8 windows to frame. lol

Garage doors framed, soffits and roof trim down.
