Got their ad today in the paper. Was shocked to see the Torin toolbox/cabinet on sale it was

500 for the bottom and 250 for the top. It looks just like the one in Sams club (the old stainless one). It is a black wrinkle finish.

What you guys think? I was hoping one day to stumble across the Stainless version from sams or costco but this thing is tempting.

What you guys think?

Sorry, 42"

Yeah, thats the one. The price was lower in the ad. Im sure if you just go in and ask they might even give you a lower price. Ive spent a lot of money there and I know they are willing to work with you especially if you spend mucho dinero there.

What about shipping? Typically that's expensive for tool chests.

Probably cheaper in total to buy the Costco box at a higher price.

shipping from NorthernTool is always outrageous. It would cost you about $500 to get both those chests to your house.

Sorry, I wasnt even thinking about shipping since I live by one. No stores close to you? I was surprised that there was one right by me.

Haha, awesome. It was pretty cool to come back from being "gone" for 15 months and a few new tool stores in the area.

Anyway, below is a link to the store locations. Not to sound like an advertisement for them but Ive spent too much of my money there.
10 in NC!

If you have it sent to the store and go pick it up with a trailer, they will not charge you for shipping. I pass by NT on the way to Dallas. I ordered two pipe racks that were in the catalog, but not stocked in the store, and the manager told me they would hold them and there would be no shipping charge. I told him I would be by for 6-8 weeks. It was not a problem. Contact a store and it manager, if you have one fairly close, and pay for it and have it sent to the store. Harbor Freight does the same on special order items with no shipping.

Good luck with your boxes!

I believe Checker Auto is an outlet for Northern Tools now... Seen signs in their window.... never went in, cause never got decent product or a decent deal from Checker.... now just call the Dealer and the parts are delivered free, and I get 20% off the regular list price. For anything else, there is NAPA.

Done learned my lessons from the cheapo stores that turn out not to be cheap, cept on the quality.

I throw NT catalogs straight in the trash since they quoted me $147 to ship a $120 toolbox to my door.... & then attempted to blow smoke up my *** by telling me that "UPS charge more because we ship so much stuff" after I checked both UPS & Fedex only to discover that the actual charge for shipping was $60... which means the other $87 was just a pure con to increase profits.
They will never see a cent from me in this lifetime.

Does Northern Tool have brick and mortar stores? I have their catalog but would be nice to just pick the toolbox up if you could; I guess ebay isn't the only place that people gouge on shipping "fees"!!
