Does anyone have pics of a 48x48 building they can post up? Getting one built in the spring with two 12x14 doors and one 12x10 door. Would like to see what I can expect.

Thanks in advance.

If all goes well it should start around March 1 the day we close on our house. A company named ESH Quality Structures will most likely be doing the work.

Mine is a 40' x 60' with 3 - 10'x10' doors but amounts to just a little more sqft than yours. Check a page or two back for the post that states "My 40' x 60' Experience" for pics...not sure if it will help you though...

Thanks guys. I did a search for 48x48 and didn't find anything in the gallery section. Maybe it's an odd size? I want to go 48 deep to part my motorhome in one bay and trailer in the other. Both are about 36' overall length.

Here is some pics of my 48x48, its a butler farmstead builder. It was here when we moved to the farm.

The one pictures is it all cleaned out, ready to add gravel. We had to add about 80yds of c base to bring the floor up so water wouldnt run through it in the spring. The 2nd picture is it starting to fill up with equipment after the gravel was added. I included a 3rd pictures of the outside.

I've since added a man door to the north end (same side as the fuel takes in the pic). Its nothing special, but works great to keep the snow off the equipment. I have a wood stove in there but ussually dont do too much work in the winter, as I have a heated attached garage (26x26x12) and a wood stove in a insulated workshop (20x30x14). If you want anymore pictures ill see if I can find some.

Attached is the floor plan for a 60' x 36' floor plan. This was designed by a friend of mine. This size would be 144 sq ft smaller than 48' x 48' but is pretty comprehensive.

The two superimposed ovals in the main part of the floor plan are two options for an overhead track to allow movement of heavy items. The smaller loop was envisioned if a loft was built on the right 1/2 of the design. Lofts are nice to store large, rarely-used items

The two-post lift could be rotated 90° to align with the door on the left of the diagram.

The motorcycle storage in the upper right could be a paint booth or work area for a frame-off restoration.

Hope this helps

Craig

I like the idea of a loft for storage. Can that be added afterwards or does it have to be done when the building is constructed? Mine will be mainly used for storage for the motorhome, trailer, dragster, motorcycle and F250.

I planned for the loft in my buiding by adding the support posts in the build and using a rafter instead of a truss so that I could have the door where I placed instead of having to deal with going inside the clean area with stairs. Think it through.. where you want the stairs/access as they will require floorspace on the main floor. I did build the loft later, but it was always in the plan.
