Hey guys,

I have a Homier 4x6 metal cutting bandsaw model MBS46/03111 that is around 12 to 15 years old. The hydraulic piston is leaking fluid out the top such that it allows the blade to drop in a herky-jerky fashion. If I recall this is my 2nd or 3rd as the manufacturer was good about replacing them but it just seems all their replacements are equally poor build quality. I'm wondering if the 4x6 bandsaw community has a better replacement I should consider?

I used to belong to a Yahoo group focused on this series of 4x6 bandsaws but that group is mostly abandoned and gets little traffic. Any suggestions on a good online community where I can get re-engaged with people who know a lot about these 4x6 units?

Thanks

If that is the swivel head saw, they are great little saws. I replace my cylinder with one from the company and it has been working fine for several years. Can't help you with an alternate replacement . Too bad that these are not still available.

note that imgur doesn't play well with GJ.

it looks like just a small 2 port hydraulic cylinder. can you take it apart to rebuild it?

an air cylinder would work to I imagine
what is the stroke , bore & overall lenght?
