I have been looking to upgrade my bits in my impact screwdriver set.

Looking for tin coated bits on who makes them in 5/16 I see a lot in 1/4 but not in 5/16

The tin coating strengthen the bit I have used the heavy duty torx snap on bits on a Land Rover while changing brake rotors with retaining bolt

I use Apex with good results for the money. Not sure about the tin coating you are talking about. Do you mean TiN, as in Titanium Nitride?

Yeah I was looking for the titanium nitrate coated (gold colored) bit they don't seem to twist every time I use them like my gray bits do

Try some high quality bits such as apex and I doubt you will have that problem.

The TiN coating won't affect the strength of the bit at all, just the surface! I suspect that you've used some bits that were much better quality than others, but any decent quality bit will be resistant to twisting. Some of them will be TiN coated, some not!

Decent bits include Snap On (made by Zephyr - uncoated) PB Swiss (coated), Stahlwille (uncoated), and Hazet (coated).

In my opinion these are all 'decent', and none will twist in normal use, though there are others!

Most of the Taiwanese and Chinese bit's I've seen seem to twist. My advice is not to economise on things like bits. If you have to buy some Taiwabese tools, get a Taiwanese bit driver, but spend the money on decent bits!

Impact drivers are really hard on bits, so it's best to get some specifically designed for Impact Drivers rather than generic 5/16 bits. Most of the big makers offer them, KoKen are probably best value, and well tough!

After some research on the bits I have decided to go with vim new impact 50 set and use them on the impact screwdriver instead of bits themselves.

I have had nothing but good results with there 1/4 sockets
