I had a 5/16" ratchet, but the Snap-On dealer swapped the guts out for me to make it 1/4".
I've never seen 5'8" drive sockets. Were they military issue?

I know it is. The tool is an IR electric impact from the 50's I think. It runs like a champ and belonged to my Grandpa, otherwise I'd junk it. I heard a company called Ozat makes them still, thought I could find two sockets for not too much dough. Can't find em on FleaBay.

I do not know the origin of 5/8 drive tools. The original two sockets I had were Snap-On, they got "misplaced".

On my Proto impact socket tool board there are spots for 1/2 to 5/8, and 5/8 to 3/4 drive adaptors. I'm not sure if they still make them (board is from the 60's or 70's) but maybe you can find them used, I haven't really looked for them yet, so if you find any let me know.:lol_hitti

Ive got a Snap-on A-4 (1/2f-5/8m) adapter in case I ever come across any 5/8 drive sockets.
