I purchased another Wilton Bullet Vise a few days ago. It weighs 96 lbs, has 5" jaws and is 20" long. I don't know the model number and I can not pull the the dynamic jaw all the way out to check the stamped date on the key at the bottom of the cylinder. The Vise has a few layers of paint, which I plan to remove and refurbish. Can anyone tell me how to remove the dynamic jaw out of the main body?

I also acquired a 450N Wilton Bullet Vise 13 months ago, which I posted here and included pics. I had no problem with pulling the dynamic jaw on this one.

I've post pictures in the past, but for some reason I can not post them now.

Any help in removing the dynamic jaw and/or posting pictures is greatly appreciated. george

I guess I am having a hard time understanding why the jaw won't slide out. Generally, as long as you have it unscrewed all the way, a little persuasion is all that is needed to get it out.

Is the thing beat up? Could someone have damaged the cylinder thus
making it hard to remove?

I have no problem removing the dynamic jaw on the first Wilton Bullet vise, with a 4.5" jaws I bought 13 months age. The one I bought last week, 5" jaws, will not come out when I turn the screw all the way out. I've been trying to remove the pin at the back to see if that helps, but it won't budge. It's been use plenty, but I wouldn's say it's beat up. I tried forceing the dynamic jaw out, but it's a no go.

Sure wish I could show pictures of it.

OK, I believe I figured out how to upload pictures of my two Wilton bullet vises.

The smaller Wilton is a 450N (Green), which I bought off craigslist for $50 some 13 months ago.

The larger (blue) Wilton I also bought off craigslist for $110. I don't know the model number yet, but it weighs 96 lbs. Can anyone ID it?

Steevo, Falcon67, RatchetMan or someone else:

1. Can anyone tell me the model # of this Wilton bullet!

2. How do I remove the dynamic jaw. I have already turned the screw all the way out and pulled hard, but it won't come out. I need to remove it to check the date on the key at the bottom and also to clean out all the old grease and repack it.

3. The handle doesn't appear to be original. Where can I get the right handle?

george

That is a beauty!

When you back the screw out all the way until it just spins and doesn't back up any farther, take a block of 2x4 and hold it against the face of the dynamic jaw, and smack it with a hammer.
