5" vise $35 at Costco

I bought one (or one very similar to it) several years ago. The jaw covers are worthless but the vise was well worth the $40 I spent, and it's even cheaper now. I'm tempted to buy a 2nd at this price. A vice for barely $1 a lb.

It looks pretty cheap but as long as you don’t use it for heavy brute work it should hold up.

They are pretty horrible but definitely worth $35. Very junk cast iron more than horrible workmanship.
About the same as the version at Harbor Freight that has a normal price of $69 and goes on sale for $54 so $35 is a great deal. Just don't confuse it with a serious vise.

It'd probably work for me. The extent that I use a vise is holding bolts for cutting or rethreading.

Third hand type usage is the extent of any VISE.
You're using it for the designed purpose.

Yeah, I just meant I'm not using it to hold something that's getting beat on or whacked around a bunch which could cause the vise to fail. Pretty light duty stuff in my case.
