I need a better scan tool. If I'm willing to spend around $500, what's the best one to get? I've been looking at the Launch X431.

This would be for Honda, Toyota and Ford.

Which X431 are you seeing for $500?

What do you have now and what are you looking for it to do I.E. view data, graph data, bidirectional control, ABS, SRS, Body modules, HVAC?

Attached to my house as most are.... Lol
Depends on what you want it to do? Look at AESwave.com. they have a Autel tpms one that'll do codes, tpms, resets and other things. It costs about $200 per yr for updates.

It cost more than $500 on the site but best prices always come if you call and speak with Jorge I believe it is. Anyone who does sales can help you. There's the guy who started it and his son.

Also ask them if they have any traded equipment.

It's about $600, which is close enough to $500.

I ask because there are several X431's the 431 diagun IV has the functions but looking at more then a few data points the screen gets too small for me, the larger screen X431's run 1K or more. On the plus side the diagun can do a lot key programming, tpms resets and my favorite Volvo oil life resets........

Not gonna get a used snap on tool updated that high at a decent price, a new autel 906 would be cheaper than a used snap on unit.

I don’t think the MK808 does bidirectional controls. I have an MP808TS that I’m very happy with that has all the features you’re looking for plus a TPMS tool built in.

Based on a video via an Amazon review, the mk808 does not have full bidirectional control. It does have electric parking brake, battery registration, a bunch of "relearn" procedures.

MP808 appears to have full bi-directional; without a video of it working I cannot confirm that "full" means identical to my 906.

Launch X431 DIAGUN looks like the main competitor. I picked Autel because I wanted to buy my 906 from an authorized dealer with good customer support. The X431 looks like a nice tool though. Autel Mp808 has a better processor speed, but when you're graphing a bunch of stuff at once you're already entering "filtered data" territory anyways.

Also - define your bidirectional needs? Honk the horn and adjust purge valve duty cycle? Or just do the basic re-learn procedures?
