Hypothetically speaking,

You have 500$ your wife doesn’t know about. What tools do you buy?

The only correct answer is to spend it all at estate sale(s) on tools. Sell some of the tools to recoup the $500 (and then some if you're savvy) and repeat the cycle indefinitely until your garage can't hold anymore. Then it's time to build a detached shop....

I once brought home a Bridgeport mill, unannounced. It was painted white, and I had it sitting in the garage when my wife got home. She came in through the garage an never noticed it. Of course, she could have all the drapes in the house changed out, and I would never notice that.

My wife loves my tools, because I can fix and build nearly anything. I built our house with those tools, so she would never complain or ask why I needed 'another tool'.
