Is anyone aware of any quality LED retrofit bulbs for a 120v 500watt halogen flood light similar to what you'd find in a work light? The bulb I'd like to replace is a 500T3Q/CL FCL. I tried to search, but didn't find anything.

I remember seeing HD sells those corn cob bulbs... I think those are T3 .... so just search for T3 LED ?

Sorry I bought and returned, never used... cheaper for me the scrap the housing and just buy an LED version.

I was planning on doing the same and just replacing the whole housing. Unfortunately the way they installed this stupid thing won't allow it; the housing is mounted to RMC and then they welded a pipe support about 1/8" above the housing.

I think the T3 is just the tube diameter and the base is R7s?
The only thing I've been able to find is a 150W equivalent which might not be enough light for me.

I have the ones from Home Depot. 250 watt equivalent I believe. Not nearly as bright as halogen.
Bought some led floods at Lowe’s a year or so ago and very pleased. Not cheap but still going and nice and bright. Tried Amazon ones several times and was up changing the fixture every three months

Yeah, I might just have to live with a slightly dimmer light. The things been burnt out for the last year anyway so I guess anything is better than nothing.

I will say they seem to last longer. I run my lights dusk to dawn and halogens lasted about a year. These are at almost 2. My lights are 15 feet up so I remember every time I have to get up there [emoji13]

The corn cob bulbs aren't bad, depends on how much of a hurry you are in. It's certainly easier than converting the entire fixture

The ones I used were a direct replacement for the halogen lamps, a bit of PITA to install but work well even though they are Feit Electric.

Sorry, no such thing.
There are lower powered versions in LED, but they're pretty far away from a 500w halogen.

Halogen tubes come in two different lengths: 78 mm and 118 mm. If your lights use the 118 mm bulbs, you can use these, which are supposedly equivalent to a 500W halogen: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GSP9JTG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I mistakenly bought two of these, since I thought my work light used 118 mm bulbs for some reason, when they're actually 78 mm. They looked and felt really impressive, but I don't know how bright they actually are, since I didn't have a fixture they could fit into and thus couldn't test them. I ended up returning them.

For 78 mm bulbs, the brightest ones I could find were the Feit ones Home Depot sells. They're about 800 lumens and supposedly equivalent to a 100W halogen. They're nice, but not as bright as the halogens I had, which I think were 250W.
