It runs but is a little noisy, from what I’ve read it has bronze bushings and a ball-thrust bearing. Anyway, I just Love the lines of it and want to polish the aluminum housing and maybe make a lamp. Opinions?4139088bf6ca750174385b2a30ade3f3.jpg3906b3e9529547c7c94ce10ad4f3a146.jpg144cff4207d9a1b819861e63d2f5073a.jpg

She definitely has some nice curves for polishing. I'm not sure how much tourque that old girl can produce but it sure looks like it would be a handful to hold onto unless there's a pipe hole on the other side. I don't see the trigger where it should be either. Maybe it is destined to be a lamp? Ed.

It funny how things happen, I had never heard of cummins tools until a couple months ago when I found one at a resale shop. Was going to polish it and hang on the wall.7e2401f1bd98a9f75a8c1c1544194e0c.jpg

That’s nice! I took mine apart and cleaned and lubricated it and sanded the commutator and it runs very smoothly and well, so I guess I don’t have the heart to damage it in any way...display it and use it sometimes I suppose..

I got inspired today and cleaned it up a bit.
I was kind of looking forward to your lamp idea but I dont blame you for not doing it05611cb7df553928cfb0a1a7a8dc5c57.jpg

I took all the scratches out and smoothed the case with this die grinder and 150 grit flap wheel then polished it with a cloth wheel and a brown stick. Put the chuck in the lathe and used a wire wheel and emery cloth.c5d58cb7db93334ca6ffe6de498d39a9.jpg9bf8bcf883c9207828605a6588c33f75.jpg0ad3ae2730eec0ef3525650d29f30d5f.jpg
