I wonder if anyone actually uses a garage as a garage and doesn't tart it up w/ **** like paint on the floor and stuff like this.

I'm interested as thats kind of what I want to do to a seperate outbuilding, it currently has a pool table, dartboard and a small basic bar in it that we inherited but it needs a total refresh. The idea is just a simple booth in one corner, a jukebox when I can find one I can afford and lots of decoration.

I have a book entitled DINERS, by Karen Offitzer. I bought it as a gift for my father, who used to manage the very type of diners you are talking about. I feel pretty sure the book has a picture (page 64) of one of his diners in there. As a child, I spent countless hours in them to the point of boredom. I saw one of his diners being built in New Jersey, later to be transported and slid into place in West Chester, PA. When my father passed away, the book came back to me.

If you have any interest in it, send me a personal message or whatever the board allows.

Dug this up for the train thread but it fits here too... This was my old single car garage. Originally it was a carport that was enclosed in the 60's the previous owner built with a 5' "lean-to" on the side. We leveled the floor and laid Armstrong B&W tiles. The bumper pool table, pinball and coke machine were all on wheels and would tuck into the lean to so I could store my old car. We cut a pass through to the laundry room and added a Fridge and sink to create bar.
