A few years ago I read an article about a guy who was producing 50's style garage fronts that could be adapted to a "regular" garage. Pretty sure these were being made in Ohio. I can't find the article in any of my hot rod or Chevy magazines. Anyone remember seeing this or know of it?. Thanks. :headscrat

Not 100% sure, but I think it was fiberglass or aluminum.
A buddy thinks the article might have been in a Classic Chevy magazine.

I've had ideas of a false front on my shop when it gets started. Would be cool to have a 50's style front and modern stuff inside.

Wow, you really dug down to find this thread. There are several people on here that have made their shops look like old stations. I built this one about 18 years ago, and was buying up Texaco themed collectibles way before that.
A friend in another forum directed me here years ago, I looked around briefly and bookmarked it. It was maybe about a year later when I was bored and was looking around again and found she had posted a picture of my shop in Roger's thread when he was looking for ideas. His shop turned out amazing and his automotive restoration talent is impressive too. I'm sure lots of people will chime in with pictures and you can get some great ideas. I wish I could have been able to view some other garages before I started mine. Pretty talented group here.

My body shop was a Mobil Service station (just ignore all the steel and the rear/side addition) It opened in 1948.

Still looking for a killer deal on a big, left facing Pegasus to put up there on the front

I live in Ohio and have collected gas stuff for 20+ years and have attended most of the gas shows but has never seen or heard of anything like you described. There is a company that makes vinyl covers for your garage doors that looks like your looking into an open garage with things like sports cars, tanks, airplanes and all kinds of cool stuff but I don't remember seeing one that looks like a gas station. I wish they did though.

Wow.! That is one cool *** garage. I would give my left nut to have that and all the stuff inside.

Oh hell, who am I kidding, I would give both nuts, my first born and my wife for that to be sitting on my property.

Thanks....glad you like it.
I enjoy going going to gas and swap meets, car shows and the like. I don't buy nearly as much as I used too. More of a selective shopper now I guess. But still enjoy going and seeing friends.
