Hello everyone, I have really enjoyed reading and following everyone's threads on this site. My wife and I purchased a new to us home about a year ago. It has an attached 2 car garage in the basement but, last week the build on our pole barn started. It is a 50x30x12 with a 20x10 door. It will be used to store my bass boat , bowfishing boat , and I will build out a 15x15 room in the back as a reloading(ammo) room. Here is the progress thus far:

Concrete is going to be poured on Monday.

Plans right now are to get electric / lights in , build some storage shelving , and then start work on the room.

Welcome... And nice start to a very nice looking structure. Mind us inquiring as to where you're building? Also--who's the building manufacturer??
Self-Built or did you hire a contractor?

Famous: welcome to the forum and nice looking pole building. since it's your thread feel free to add as many pictures and details as you can. we all love pictures and the reason Hemi is asking about the contractor is he or other members might like to use your contractor after seeing the progress on your build or if you built it to ask you some questions.

good luck on your cement pour.

Here are a couple pics to get an idea of how the property lays out. There is a lake to one side and a little bit of woods in the back. The pole barn is being built at the end of the driveway. I had to have a large oak tree removed (hated to have to do that!) and have the electrical service rerouted.

Welcome to the most expensive free site you will have the pleasure to be on.
If you are unfamiliar with this site, most people on here are very knowledgeable in there area of expertise. They will give you about any answer to a question, and they will give you some idea's you might not thought of.:dunno:
Sometimes we might ask how much you paid to have something done, like concrete, or electrical, usually its for price comparison and it helps with the reality of what the dreams cost.
OK, enough of that. On with the building questions.
Looks like a beautiful area you live in, nice lake. Whats the reason for the plastic under the wire on the garage floor? are you going to do heated floor?
What kind of garage hobbies are you into? Nice shop, I'm about in the same stage of the build that you are. I have a 30 X 40 concrete pad already poured from another building that is no longer there, I need to have another slab the same size poured, just need some more funds.

Thank you!

If you guys have any questions, ask away!

I'm not sure what exactly the plastic is for, the builder did that. They had to bring in ALOT of rock to level out the inside. No heated floors.

For the most part its going to be storage for my boats, lawn mower , misc. But like I said I'm going to build a room in the back at least 15x15, maybe bigger to make into a sort of "man cave" with a reloading bench, TV , sofa , mini fridge, etc.

Famous: looks like an awesome spot to hang your hat and can you fish in your lake or use a boat or jet ski? for a new member you are able to post up some nice pictures and keep doing so when you can. might i suggest buying some commercial racking like they have at Costco and Home Depot for your shop? since it's heavy duty you don't need to put any shelves on the bottom so you can put your lawnmower, machines and even workbenches under them. also a nice 8 foot warehouse ladder works great for getting things up and down off the upper shelves like Christmas decorations or kid's belongings that don't need to be down lower.

here's a picture of my storage unit's rack and warehouse ladder.it's a bit messy, but maybe you get the idea.

Merry Christmas
