Nice, I almost picked up another hard top this summer but instead picked up an 89 Rs Vert for my wife and I to enjoy with the kids. Its a bone stock 305 TBI with no mods. Needs paint but has a brand new top. We will see how long it stays stock. I foresee a nice little 5.3 or 6.0 in its future.

Back from the dead with small updates. Got the vapor barrier up and started on the ceiling.

Lift showed up today. Going to get the ceiling done before putting up. Hopefully next week I can start on the install.

Well since I have been failing at updates I will throw some pics up.
Putting up lights. Used 8 foot T8 fixtures. Five rows with five fixtures in each row.

Started work on building my loft.
I used LV beams and bolted them together. I only wanted two posts. I lined the posts up with the walls between the garage door so you still had a straight shot pulling in the garage all the way to the front wall. Made the posts out of 2x6 with plywood in the middle to make up the thickness. I am by no means a structural engineer but it seems stout.

So I needed a cabinet for storing tool cases. Also I hate having wheels on my tool box. When it was in my two car garage I had it on a 4x4 base. Works well because it also sits lower. So started building a side cabinet and new base for my box.

Also got some heat installed. Along with wiring and insulation. Didn't take many pics of that. But ran 200 amp service and natural gas out to the shop. If anyone is questioning the cost of doing in floor heat for there build I can say it's worth every penny. I keep the shop at 58 degrees and I am never cold. Also recovery from when I open the door to pull a cold vehicle in is minimal. Air is cold for maybe a few min at best.

Other reasons for lack of updates is being busy. I started working on cars and it didn't take long and I had more work then I could handle at times. One big issue was having one lift. I do a fair amount of heavy line work and would miss small jobs due having a project on the lift. My wife actually pushed me to getting another one. Plus with one lift I would never have a chance to put my race car on it.

One issue I had with the new lift is I never planed for it. So I had no map of the infloor heat tubes in the middle bay. Luckily turning the heat on full blast with a thermal camera I could see tubes so as not to drill into them.

Now I have a good amount of old tin that I bought for the ceiling. I wanted tin mid way up the wall. I also wanted a barn wood look. So this is what I came up with. The wood is rough saw pine boards from menards. I stained it to look this way. Took a few tries but found a good trick on YouTube. I brush on water to the bare board. Then follow up with brushing on stain. Then wipe excess off. More water means less stain gets in.

How tall are the side walls of the shop? How high is the new deck going around for storage? I like the look of the weathered tin and the wide stained boards, adds some character.

Side walls are 14 feet. Will have to measure the deck but I am 6 foot and have to tilt my head when up there.

My neighbor is helping me with my cabinet and built me some drawers for the lower part. He also got everything stained for me. Just needs some poly and I can start filling it up. Need to come up with a door idea.
