Just thought I would post up a few pictures of my lights installed in the 40X50 shop. Might help someone else looking at lighting and debating what to do.
I used 16 of these fixtures:

With 4 of these bulbs in each fixture:
http://www.shineretrofits.com/maxli...lamp-32-watt-32w-5000k-24-000-hour-51049.html
Here is what I paid for the lights and bulbs shipped:

I probably had about $1,000 in wire/EMT/switches and I definitely had a lot of waste as well. I also had to rent a scissor lift for a week to get the job done (didnt need the whole week but 4 days and 1 week were the same price)
Ive never wired anything like this before, but I had a decent BASIC knowledge of electricity beforehand. Wired everything myself, ran EMT, pulled all the wire, installed all breakers in the breaker box and installed 20 duplex 20 amp outlets (4 outlets per circuit in a 2 gang box)
Was actually a lot easier than I originally thought. I worked alone for the most part but my wife helped some. The lights took me 3 days and the outlets took me about 2 days. If I did it again right now, I could probably knock it out alone in about 3 days total working 10 hours a day with lunch in the middle.
Got everything wired up and turned everything on and it worked as I wanted it the first time... Didnt have to rewire anything.
Only problem I encountered was when I was doing the outlets. I had 8 (4 hot 4 neutral) 12g THHN wires in 3/4" EMT and didnt label anything when I pulled it. I had to figure out how to pair the wires from one end to the other end. I ended up just bonding one end of the wire to the EMT and going to the other side and checking the resistance of each wire until I found the right one. Pretty easy actually.
I will probably add a few more fixtures later, but for now, its just fine and was pretty much within my budget.
In the last picture it looks like the shop is on fire... Its not. Thats burnout smoke. Its the only pic I have at night but it gives an idea of what it looks like at night.
Anyway, its not the best, but not the worst. Im happy with the outcome and I learned ALOT.
