I don’t know if there are other complaints, but when i go to the “Conversations” bar, a whole bunch of soft **** icons /links open up at the bottom of the page.

Doesn’t happen on other pages, just Conversations.

Have you /we been hacked?

You have a virus of some sort. What OS are you using? Android, Mac, Windows etc.?

A conversation is a PM.

You can click on the conversation and report it, just like if it were a post.

Sounds like you've made a new friend that is spamming links.

I remember when Ryan was reworking the site and I hot hit by some rather "interesting" pornographically oriented sites. It was about the same time we were getting hit by spammers, but it was a little less than inspiring. Well, to some it would have been MORE than inspiring...

Which reminds me - I heard Tampa was spared the brunt of the recent hurricane... :lol_hitti

Advertising type icons and links you see are generally taken from the prexisisting "cookies" in your browser. So one of two things has occurred in your case. Either someone else is using your computer, or as a worst case scenario, you have a small advertising related virus attached to your browser from clicking on something that looked safe at one time, that allowed the attachment to your browser. Malicious in nature, as they could also contain key stroke loggers and such. Best to scan your system with a decent piece of commercially available software to play it safe. Also make certain your software is up to date, even if set on auto update, quite a bit requires a manual update to bring it up to date.

Hence the need for a known anti malware and anti virus program scan of your computer, and a complete deletion of your system and browser cache and cookie settings. It will be a pain for a short time, but at least at that time you'll know if you were compromised, or not.
