I have a 5191 craftsman Vise and managed to break the spindle where the screw joins the nose. My nephew, I certified welder for 20 years attempted to repair, but the cast iron just didn't cooperate with him. So I'm in search of a replacement. From what I've read it seems the 5196 uses the same spindle. Are there other models in the 519x series that would also work?
If anyone has a broken 5191(6) vise, but a good spindle, and are willing to sell, please let me know. Or if you could refer me to someone who specializes in parts for vintage vises.
