Awesome job, that latest car project is super cool!
I got a nice 1988 Daytona the other day it's got the 2.2L turbo and 5 speed. Do you have any recomendations for engine mods to increase power? Pm me if you want.
I would have passed on the car except I remembered seeing all your 2.2 cars and a good friend of mine always raved about his 2.2 turbo car.
Your shed is coming along great!!!!
Is the car factory inter cooled? If so it has the strongest engine and transmission of that year. The easiest power upgrade is a computer, injectors, and a 3 bar map sensor if it is Intercooled. The first thing anyone will tell you is make sure the car is in good working order before making performance mods. Typically the vacuum lines are in rough shape. A leaky line to the map sensor or fuel pressure regulator can kill the engine in a hurry. A wide band air fuel meter is a good tool to have to monitor that the engine is getting enough fuel. You can monitor the narrow band it's just not nearly as accurate. www.turbo-mopar.com has a boat load of info on these cars. Fwdperformance and turbosunleashed sell all sorts of upgrades. They're fun cars that tend to get a bad rap because most of them have been beat hard for the last 25 years with neglected maintenance.
