Pad is built waiting for the contractor and lumber company to drop materials. Sounds like it will start next Monday. I only have a few pics of the pad so far but actually I don't know how to transfer from my phone to GJ so if anyone has any tips there I will try to post as construction progresses.

From my galaxy 5S phone, I log onto the GJ and post normally, but to add a pic I go to manage attachment, choose file and then select "my files", DCIM and camera and all the pics are listed.

I use an app called "Tapatalk" to access GJ, the forum looks completely different than on the desktop but it makes posting and uploading pictures very easy from my phone

I like the way you're laying it out, I want to build something very similar. Did you check into prices of steel framing vs wood? Seems like most of the bigger ones are steel, but I like wood...

OldBarn.... The shop I am currently in is a steel building. Nothing really wrong with it except that it takes a little more work to attach anything to the walls. I didn't check prices on steel structure because of this. I knew I wanted wood and also knew the reputation of the builder I hired. Wood frame is all he does and his quality is great.

Not sure what your inventory is but space will not be an issue...at least for now. How will you heat it? I have a 40 X 60 and use barrel stoves to keep chill down. Leaky

Little by little it's getting done.
Leaky88. .. it's not so much my inventory but my equipment that takes up so much room... Heat will be NG radiant tube. I hadn't planned on heating the entire space but have since changed my mind...juploadfromtaptalk1418945874167.jpguploadfromtaptalk1418945891791.jpg

Ok... It's about -7 this morning and the windchill is taking it down to about -35. Lets talk lighting. I searched the previous threads and gained some info. I'm thinking 3 rows of 5 highbay lights (6 lamp)... T8 's are about $75 bucks each at Menards. I haven't priced T5's yet. I know they are a bit more expensive... If you have them are you happy with them? ANy other suggestions?

Do fluorescent lights work very well when it's that freaking cold. Are you planning to heat the whole building?

Looks like Menards is having one of their 11% off sales... I plan on buying about 15 of the high bay 6 lamp T8 lights... I think they are about $86 regularly. Probably a bunch of 3/4'' EMT also... Any other high dollar item I should look into picking up? I already bought a bunch of wire and assorted EMT fittings etc... Thanks..!

Well... I lied. I bought 24 of those lights. My eyes aren't what they used to be so no need to make them struggle....

Wow, that's alot of spray foam. I bet that wasn't cheap but it'll pay for itself in the long run. How much quieter did it get on the inside once it was sprayed ?

I'm going to take a guess, lights up and walls getting done, I bet you're going to do the concrete while it's cold outside ?

NUTTSGT... I agree. It is a bunch of foam but I am now a believer. Incredibly quiet inside and there are just no drafts at all.... I had the crew spray right down to the dirt so there will be a thermal break between the concrete and steel. We are leaving the bottom few feet of steel until later when the concrete is finished. I didn't want to take the chance of any concrete splashing against the new steel. Within the next couple of weeks I hope to get the concrete on the south side interior from door track to door track poured so we can frame the office and finish the steel shop side of the wall and the sheetrock interior side of the office... It's been a long project, that's for sure!
