As promised in a thread about penetrating oils that morphed into a discussion on locked up motors and don't try to turn them over, here is the info on my friend's 56 chrysler.
1956 Chrysler New Yorker that has been sitting for 20? years with 354 hemi and auto trans w/ push button shift. Car was owned by a Chrysler mechanic (friends granddad) and was driven to where it sits. Windows were broken out a few years back. The car is probably not a good candidate for restoration but has a few redeeming qualities. The car is complete, except glass. Motor is all there including alternator, water pump, powersteering, carb, covers, screws, bolts ect. Trim is in excellent condition, dash is pretty good. Motor will not turn. We put marvel mystery oil down cylinders and diesel/atf in crankcase. The crankcase was full of oil. Because of the advice given here to not try to free up the motor, we have not turned it over.
Car is available complete only, my friend has no way to pull motor and sell by itself. The only exception may be if someone wants to buy and remove the trim, a deal can be worked out. Also, he has a man interested in the trim who he will put you in touch with.
You may contact my friend at [email protected] or pm me.
Car is located 20 miles northwest of Baltimore MD.
Price is $1800 obo
He does have valve cover and rocker asemmbly for pass. side of motor. Pulled off to keep tension off vavle springs, project went no further
Thanks for looking, motor will look great in a ratrod
