I purchased a used 56'' Harbor Freight Double Bank Roller Tool Box and the bottom two big wide drawers slides on one sides is tilting a bit. Have anyone tried to replace them before? I know they're riveted in but it's removable.

Besides calling the parts department number, is there any other ball bearing slides that people have tried installing in it's place? I haven't taken it out to measure how long it is or how it looks like.

When I purchased my 56” Series II boxes last year, I messed up one of the slides when installing the drawers back in after transporting the box. HF replaced the slides free under warranty, and even sent me two additional sets. I don’t know about the older boxes, but mine had two rivets on the box side of the slides to remove and replace, and very simple! If you order new slides from HF, be sure to give them the sku # of your box to be safe. Not sure about the older 56” boxes, but the Series II boxes have a few different sku’s and each are made at a different factory. Plus, some boxes have detents, and some don’t, so they may not be interchangeable between different factories. It took about seven weeks to receive the slides because they had to order them from the factory. They informed me of this at time of order, so I patiently waited.

I had very very bad experienced in the past with customer service. Just been put on hold for 15-30 minutes over a course of two weeks calling them during my working hours of 8am to 5pm. I remembered taking time off my lunch time to call them as well. Eventually after about two weeks of calling them, finally got hold of someone to help me in looking for replacement drawer plastic sliding latches for the 56'' box as well. For a different box I had but same 56'' HFT Box. Over the phone even reference the part number and also wanted to order all the plastic latches as well at that time instead of one or two that broke. Waited 5 weeks and a package arrived but it turned out to be drawer labels (long white strips). I don't know who's card on file they charged but they didn't charge mines and that was that. I remembered throwing those drawer labels away the moment I got it and just gave up on recalling them about any other parts.

If it were me, I'd try again, but do as much research as you can first. See if you can match up your box's sku (should be on the sticker on the rear of the box) with those on HF's site and download the manual and get slide part numbers. I had my product manual to reference to which helped tremendously. Other than waiting on the phone for the next available rep, my order went super smooth!
