6/3 rubber Cable

Think massive extension cord. How much should I expect to pay, and where do I get it ? Went to big box store tonight, and all they had was 6/4, and only 100' at that. I'm thinking I need to go at least 150 ft away from the source with it. TIA

go to an electrical supply house. Last thing i bought that was close was 8/4 in the mid $2/ft. I would expect to pay between $2 and $3 for 6/3

150' are you concerned with voltage drop?

How about Weight?

A 250' roll weighs 165 lbs. So 165/250 = .66 lbs a Foot X 150 = 99 lbs
That is a HEAVY extension cord.

About 6 months ago I got 35' of 4/4 cost a little over $200.
I use this cord on my miller plasma cutter.

I paid about $75 for 125 feet of 10/5 (for three phase) cable a month or so ago at a surplus place. New, on a reel. Weighed about 75 lb, I had to hoof it to the truck myself!

I'd suggest looking for surplus electronics/electrical/industrial places nearby. I buy a lot of great stuff at these places, often new, that came from companies who are either closing or down-sizing, or just cleaning up storage space.

Priced 10/4 SOOW today at Lowes and it was $1.99 per foot.
