Spent a crapload of cash on Proto 6 point combos and flare nut wrenches.
Very ****** dissapointed with quality, worst finish and quality control of any wrench I've ever purchased. Lots of defects, chipping chrome.
I've put "cheaper" taiwanese wrenches through hell for 10+ years and have never had a chrome chipping issue, these Protos are brand new...
These are the first expensive wrenches I've purchased.
Sending them all back, pictures to follow.
Still after a 6 point set, not paying a premium for NOS USA satin Craftsmans, I've given up on finding a satin set.
I might try the Taiwanese sets from ETC/Extreme Torque Corp on ebay. At least I think they are Taiwanese, waiting on response from seller.
Only found 2 threads on ETC/Extreme Torque Corp on here, nothing conclusive, anyone else have any input on them?
If that's no good looks like I'm stuck between SK and Snap-On. I've heard SK has issues with chipping chrome, any validity to this?
Are Gearwrench wrenches made in Taiwan or China?
I'm guessing the newer Craftsman stuff is Chinese?
