No disrespect guys -- I'm hanging our here for a reason. I value you your opinion and I appreciate all of the comments and information. I was just trying to say I thought it was a nice Executive Summary of this thread.

Agreed. It is a good summary. I just disagree with the last half.

I try to promote 12 points (incidentally I now own more 6pt than 12pt) because I think they are under valued until you're stuck for one, then a guy wishes he had invested in a few.

I have both as sometimes you get a bolt or nut with a 12 point head and a six point won't work. For tight corroded bolts or nuts you need 6 point. Ford vehicle uses some and some foreign vehicles also.

I started a thread on the nessessity of 12 point sockets as some of you know. And acutally saw a 12pt bolt on my truck today. It was on the garrett turbo, so now I have an excuse to get some lol. I may just have to upgrade to a bigger turbo, and would be stuck without 12 point stuff. hah
