6' T12 Fixtures

I have a 40x72x16 pole building. The previous owner installed 15 two bulb hooded fixtures. 3 on each truss mounted at 16' high. The trusses are spaced 12' apart. I have a few ballasts and bulbs going out and want to uprade. The amount of light in the shop could definitely be better. Does anyone have 6' fixtures they've retrofitted with led tubes? Thanks, Ken

Are these the normal 6' lamps that have 1 pin on each end of the lamp, or are they the HO type that has recessed pins on the end?
Just asking to determine the light output.
You might be able to find a 6' LED tube, but it will likely be from some no-name manufacturer that wont be in business in a year or two.
Either way, I wouldn't use a 6' LED tube to replace them, just because 6' tubes are fairly rare. If it was my space, I'd replace the fixtures. At 16', you could use a new LED highbay in the range of 12,000 to 16,000 lumens and you'd have vastly improved lighting.
If you choose to keep your strip fixtures, you could use a "tandem kit" to modify it so that it takes either 4 3-foot tubes, or 2 4-foot tubes plus 2 2-foot tubes. I'm not in love with either of these options either, since 3' tubes are about as common as...well...6' tubes.
That's why, in your case, I'd consider using new fixtures.
Good luck,
CD

Anything shorter or longer than four feet is just more of a pain to deal with and the F72T12 slimline or HO, high output is really sort of a oddity not hard to get but still more $$. Just no reason to keep them when better options are out there.

They are the regular single pin bulbs.

I have found a few no-name companies on Ebay and Amazon. The two led tubes are 32 and 60 watt. They claim 110 lumens per watt. The 60 watt version are only available in 6500k. The 32 is available in 5000k. Price is around $16-$20 per tube

What led high bays would you recommend?
