60 amp circuit question

Hey all.

I am running a 60 amp circuit to my furnace in my pole building. I have run 3/4 EMT from the service to where the furnace is located. My plan is to run 2 #6 THHN and a bare ground. Is this acceptable or do I need a #6 neutral also ? ? and what guage should the bare ground be ?

I am also running 2 50 amp circuits (again in 3/4 EMT) with 2 #8 wires. Same question..do I need a neutral and what size should the bare ground be ?

If the devices don't need 120V then you don't need a neutral.

For the equipment grounds use #10. I'd use a green THHN ground not bare, but that's me.

I take it you mean "circuit" rather than "service"?

I'd do it how Patten suggested myself.

I like the idea of the #10 THHN green wire for the ground.

Next question is.........the 60 amp circuit going to the air handler (I called it furnace) is I am assuming for the heating element that the HVAC guy will be installing.

Will the air handler need a neutral and if so what size should it be ?

Air handlers I'm familiar with do not use a neutral.

It would need a neutral if it needs 120v. Almost all heating elements are 240v. So u will have to look @ the specs of the heating element or why not just ask the HVAC guy if you're unsure?
