hello all...anybody running hvlp with a 60 gallon single stage comp?I spray with the cheapo hf purple gun till I find a good deal on better gun here's What I've found
from my local farm supply store has one rated@ 12.3@40 10.3@90 3.1 running hp&lowes has a kobalt 13.4 @40 11.5@90 3.7 running hp tractor supply has a Campbell hausfield 3.2 running hp 11.8@90 [email protected] like the Campbell hausfield has a 3 yr warranty .But the farm supply here has a 10%token I can use on first mentioned comp.
I'm currently running a oilless craftsman 33 gallon &its uhh not enough for my needs.I know the 60 isn't real big but sure it can work or am I'm reaching for straws ?I've looked allover craigslist &nada did talk to one fella who has a old Curtis from 1954 that was in a service station said it was built to run slow?Id imagine parts would be a bear to deal with&I'm really wanting something new for a warranty.Has anybody had Any much with Any of these or similar? Please chime in.Thanks in advance!

What's the rating on your gun and what are you painting?

I assume you're using an HVLP gun?

I used to run a Porter Cable single stage 60 gallon compressor. It painted a lot of cars (at least in the 100s of overall jobs and at least triple the amount of blend jobs) before it layed down on me the last time, which I have since rebuilt and have it hooked up as a spare. It kept up with my HVLP stuff pretty good, with my DAs and sandblast cabinet I had to stop and let it catch up quite a bit but it got the job done. Since then I have upgraded to an 80 gallon 2 stage Eaton and can't have enough good things to say about it. If you are just doing work for yourself the 60 is plenty for you imo but if you can swing the extra $$$ it is money well spent on a larger compressor.
