Now that I'm a bit relaxed...
So I went to two Sears stores. The first one I had to wait 8 minutes for my two orders. I had to wait a bit at customer service for this disgruntled uneducated woman to finish her screaming over $4 difference between pants she was returning with no tags and no receipt and a new pair she wanted, but I then received a $10 voucher.
I was offered two $5 credits, but I asked for store credit, and that seemed to perk the manager up a bit, especially after what she endured with the other customer.
Now, I just came back from another Sears for two orders. It was such a cluster-muck over there. The slef-help kiosk wasn't working. So the guy brought half of one order and told me to go to the tool dept. for the remaining items. He also said they would be able to cancel my other order there. Nope, they couldn't cancel the order. Then someone in receiving told me human resources should help me with that. Okay, I go there. The door is closed and there's a security lock. Surely that's not where he expected me to go...
I go back to receiving and ask them to just fill the second order. I figure I can always return the items at a different, easier to handle Sears. After running around the store and dragging me with them, they located the order. Maybe I'll keep these as give-away tools.
Oh my goodness, though... it was a madhouse, and everyone was very tense at having to wait long times. Receiving couldn't find orders, they brought back a second lawn mower to a guy who only wanted to return the one he had. It was chaos.
So now I have five sets of deep offset wrenches when I only wanted three, a screwdriver set with no UPC or labeling of any kind, and a few more grey hairs.
Since I was at that second Sears for so long, I wanted to ask about the 5 min or longer = $5 for my next order policy, but figured that would just cause even more hell, especially since the store was closing.
Also, the deep offset wrench sets were $30 in-store, probably because the prices were dropped online (from $50 to $42) but not in-stores.
