That's a $200 drill press in the Chicago area, less if no vises. For $300 if should have Vari-slow (or whatever they call the variable speed option) or a slow-speed middle pulley at the very least. There's no table lift, and it's only 4 speeds. Can't see $300 there.....

I agree with Frank, there's a lot of extra value there beyond the press. I'd go look at it and if you decide that you can't live without it don't forget that it's a Craigslist ad.

That's a bit high for my area as well. It's a good drill press. Most likely better than most you'll buy today. If it's worth it too you than buy it. In my area that would be in the $ 150.00 range.

At 300 you're real close to the cost of a decent machine new. If you just want a vintage machine then it's probably a fair price.

Considering the extras, I think it is worth $300. Sure, you can check CL 5 times a day for months and might get lucky and be the first caller on a super bargain price DP. But will it be as well taken care of? Will you have to disassemble it to clean and install new bearings? Will you have to drive 100 miles each way? What is your time worth?
If bargain hunting is a sport for you go ahead.

If you can afford the 3 bills, go for it. If you need anything at all in regards to repair, maintenance, or improvements, the Craftsman Drill Press thread is there to assist. :)

Meh....unless you're wanting vintage for vintage sake. Needs a 2-axis vise.

Look longer.

If' it's a 61 it's more than likely a **** load better quality than anything you will buy today, I'd pay 3, my only issue would be speed, if you're using it for wood it's not much of an issue, but if you're going to be drilling metal it needs a good low speed, might want to check it out before you buy.

pretty nice Delta Floor model for $125.00.
working drill press. Multi-speed. 3/4" chuck with key. 1/2 hp single phase motor. (Has the center pulley, 12 0r 16 speed)
Needs a few minor things, could probably make the parts too.
I'd go jump on this.

Now the down side Crank handle to raise and lower table needs to be replaces. http://www.ereplacementparts.com/handle-assembly-p-83015.html

Handle that raises the chuck needs 3 missing one.

Total cost 28.00 to put back to factory
I'm asking $125 drill press should sell 225.00 used.
